Head of the Chair of Church Practice Sciences


He was born in 1976.

In 1999, he graduated from Moscow State University’s Department of Physics (the Chair of Computer Methods of Physics) and at the same time the Department of Theology of the St Tikhon Orthodox Humanitarian University (Chair of Liturgics). In 2006, he defended a thesis for the degree of Candidate of Theology.

He is author of 155 publications (including in joint authorship). Among them 42 articles in various Russian and foreign scholarly editions, 96 articles in the Orthodox Encyclopaedia, 4 reviews, 8 articles on various websites of the Russian Orthodox Church, 5 introductory articles and commentaries to the publications of liturgical texts and reprints of the works of scholars of the past.

In recognition of his work for the Orthodox Encyclopaedia church scholarship center, His Holiness Patriarch Alexy II of Moscow and All Russia awarded him a Patriarchal Diploma (2000) and the Order of St Sergius of Radonezh, Class III (2006).

In 2005, he was ordained as deacon and in 2008 as priest. Since 2005, he has served at the church of Protomartyr George the Conqueror in Moscow.

Since 2009, by the ROC Holy Synod decision, he is included in the Synodal Biblical-Theological Commission and the Inter-Council Presence of the Russian Orthodox Church (Minutes No. 55 and 63 respectively of the Holy Synod’s session on July 27, 2009).

He is also associate professor at Moscow and Minsk Theological Academies.
